Want to use public transport but not sure where to get information?

 

There are plenty of ways you can easily access timetable information for bus and train services in Lancashire and beyond.

 

You can call Traveline on 0871 200 22 33 to receive personal journey planning from the Lancashire based call centre 8am-8pm 7 days a week (calls cost 10p a minute plus network extras). If you prefer to plan your own journey online, visit www.traveline.info and use the online journey planner.

 

Copies of local bus timetables can be downloaded from the transport website www.transportforlancashire.com . Lots of other useful information about bus services can be found on www.lancashire.gov.uk , A-Z, B for buses.

On the go? If you have mobile internet on your phone, you can also view the next bus times on your web browser, simply visit www.mytraveline.mobi from your mobile phone and follow the instructions.

 

For a longer journey outside the county, you can plan your journey at www.transportdirect.info or visit www.nationalrail.co.uk for up to date rail timetable information and to buy train tickets.

 

It’s never been easier to get public transport timetable information, and you can also pick up free copies of bus timetables or local bus maps from your local County Information Centre, library or interchange.

West Lancashire Dial a Ride

 

West Lancashire Dial-a-Ride Association provides community transport services to residents of West Lancashire who find it difficult to use public transport.

 

All our services are door-to-door. Our vehicles are fully accessible and our drivers are all too pleased to help you on and off the bus. West Lancashire Dial-a-Ride services are suitable for a wide range of activities including access to social clubs, shopping, leisure or visiting friends and family.

We offer individual members three types of service:

 

Scheduled services: These are regular services that operate over popular routes. These services run to a published timetable.

 

On Request services: We will take you to and from any address in West Lancashire at a time to suit yourself. The service is subject to availability.

 

Excursions: These are services to popular shopping destinations outside the borough which run to a published timetable.

 

We also offer qualifying community groups a group transport service available by the hour at competitive rates. Please ring for details.

 

All our services must be pre-booked and are subject to availability. Normally we ask for 48 hours notice. Before using any of these services you must register as a member.
